Other MBAs Programs

Projects are enterprises or a sequence of activities with clear goals, standardization and organization, and control of resources and time. Currently, project management is not only used for development of new products, but also for many other reasons and purposes, such as: product improvement, implementation of systems, reformulation of processes, implementation of new services, and development of software and marketing campaigns.

While on the one hand project management is crucial for all businesses and activities, on the other hand failures and delays are very common, especially with regard to meeting deadlines, budgets and customers’ expectations. In many cases, managers are negligent or there is lack of planning. In other cases, there is lack of communication or lack of knowledge of market trends and new technologies. In other words, even with all tools provided by project management, the real challenge to succeed is having a comprehensive view of the entire environment, keeping in mind that project management is more than meeting budgets and deadlines. The manager must add value to the business.

Mastering the methodology of project management is a prerequisite in professional training, because any area can be engaged in the implementation of projects or in process improvement. A good project manager must not only have adequate management skills to meet goals, deadlines, costs and quality, and produce better results for the company, but also avoid unexpected events, anticipate unfavorable situations, make timely decisions, and measure risks. Finally, it is important that results can be evaluated so that it is possible to assess whether the resources were well allocated. After all, what cannot be measured cannot be managed.

Therefore, in addition to their skills, professionals should have full knowledge of project management methodology, mastery of best practices recommended by the Project Management Institute, and should always seek to update their knowledge. Professionals should be aware that project management is the flavor of the month, as a strategy to add value to business.

  • Companies with internal training programs for their professionals;
  • Entrepreneurs looking for a comprehensive view of the project and process management environment;
  • Professionals from different fields, interested in knowing the project environment and an organized view of processes.
  • To present, discuss, and analyze the principles of project management in organizations in order to enhance managers’ understanding of the role such tool plays in making strategic decisions within the competitive environment of business;
  • To train professionals capable of critical analysis and reflection for the development and implementation of projects;
  • To encourage self-development and professional competency.

Upon course completion, graduates will be able to:

  • Use the best practices of project management;
  • Structure, analyze, and monitor projects;
  • Have a comprehensive view of the project and processes environment.
