The teaching and practice in accounting and controllership applied to the public sector have become challenging with the structural and instrumental changes caused by the internationalization of Brazilian accounting practices.

The initial regulatory framework of this internationalization is based on Resolution 1,103 from the Brazilian Federal Accounting Council (CFC), of September 28, 2007; and on the Edict 184 from the Brazilian Ministry of Finance, of August 25, 2008.

In light of the increasing social demand for more transparency and accountability in the use of public resources, the development and complexity of public accounting and controllership, the study of accounting focused on control and management aspects is paramount to public officers, whether accountants, managers, economists, engineers etc., allowing a deeper understanding of the dynamics of decisions concerning the investment of public resources.

  • Professionals working in public administration in fields such as accounting, finance, strategic planning, management, control, auditing, or related fields, who wish to grow within their organizations and that need stronger and more appropriate conceptual and instrumental bases in accounting and controllership applied to the public sector;
  • Organizations with internal training programs for their professionals from the fields of accounting, controllership, control, auditing, finance, and strategic planning.

  • To prepare accounting professionals to work in the government sector in accordance with the new requirements of the Federal Accounting Council and the National Treasury Secretariat, especially after the process of international convergence;
  • To train professionals capable of critical analysis and reflection for the development and implementation of new processes for planning, control and evaluation of results of investment and expenses incurred by public officials, through application of accounting and controllership techniques, supported by quantitative and qualitative methods, in line with the reality of the global, regional and local markets and with current competitive scenarios;
  • To promote the qualification of participants in order to improve the level of financial and accounting reporting intended for various users;
  • To encourage self-development and professional competency through an effective program designed for the continuous improvement of professionals.
